[Guide] Building a Strong League Defense Team
In this guide, Fayie will be teaching you on building a strong League Defense Team.
You will not need to get the exact Astromon as what is listed in this guide.
What I will be going through will be, what we look in a strong League defense team.
Fayie current setup is the following
Light Emperato as Variant Lead
Dark Arthur
Water Nightmare
Light Thor
Light Shiva as Hidden
While I already have Wood Onmyoji ready to be Evo3, I do not have the puglist gem set ready for her.
Further, I still have not completed Fire Vickii as it is still at Evo 2 nor do I have a full gem set for her yet.
Lastly Dark Loki, I am still praying to RNGesus for it.
So let’s start with the Do’s & Don’ts of a MSL League Defense Team
Do’s
- Tank Based Astromons
- Defender Based Astromons
- Crowd Controllers
- High Seal Rate
- Resistance Down
- Fearless Taunt
- Sub support Healers
- Use Range of Different Elements
Dont’s
- Squishy Attackers
- Low Chance Crowd Controllers
- All Same Elements Astromons
Remember, as a defense squad, you are always second to go.
Meaning, a squishy Attacker team, may not be able to get Active up to burst down.
The idea is to pressure the challenger to counter each of your Astromons instead of focus nuking each one down.
The best crowd controllers are Shockers, Stunners & Seal.
While Shock being the absolute beast, as it is a mixture of Def Down & Stun all built into one.
However, you can only get Shock from Light Astromons, the only downside is that most Astromon comes with very low Shock Rates even with skill books. With the 2 100% Shockers, Arthur & Valk both being Attacker & Balance, making them easy targets during Round 1. This is why Light Snowwhite & Emperato is a super popular choice. As it is a Tank & Defender Shocker Respectively despite not having a 100% Shock rate. Another very well versed Astromon is Canna having Seal on Passive and Shock as an Active.
Where as Seal may not seem dangerous, but in a game like MSL, majority of all Astromons are heavily resilient on their passives & actives. Taking them away, strips them from their abilities to perform completely.
Thus making Astromons such as Dark Loki, Water Nightmare an popular choice.
Stun is another popular choice as it completely puts them out of combat for x amount of time. You are able to find stunners everywhere, & even on the Puglist Gem set. Stun & Shock both Stack together, they won’t override each other unlike the Shields Absorbs.
While I would not recommend going out your way getting a 100% stunner, I rather have my Shockers & Sealers using Puglist Set.
While Resistance Down are not a complete must, they do really help when facing teams with much higher resistance than burst attackers. However, due to this, they are usually always the main to secondary focus, only after taunters.
Fearless Taunters, one simply cannot get anymore annoying than this. While it’s true, you do not stop them from attacking like Shock or Stun, you do stop them from attacking anyone else but you, in addition, you get a Def Up Buff or Damage Reduction Buff making you a very tanky towards everyone else. If you are very tanky (in both HP & Def), you will have no issues surviving for a long time if they do not burst you down during your def up/dmg reduction downtimes.
While choosing the right combination (4+1) is tough, you need to remember to be diverse in your elements.
A full wood team can be easily countered by a full fire attack Team.
While full Light can be burst down easily from full dark and vice versa.
There are 5 elements, it’s always best to have 1 of each to keep each enemy at bay.
While you have 5 Astromon, your opponent only has 4. Use that to your advantage.
You are now ready to build your own very own Team !
While I mentioned what I currently have, let me tell you what I wish to achieve as an End-Goal
Light Emperato as Variant Lead
Wood Onmyoji
Water Nightmare
Fire Vicki
Dark Loki as Hidden
